Marian Betts was born in Africa of Pioneer Missionaries to the Sudan. She spent her
first seven years in the wilds of the South Sudan Savannah and the next six years in either Khartoum, Sudan or Alexandria, Egypt
at boarding school.
Marian’s affinity for storytelling was developed in her early years listening to the tales of life in the untamed wilderness and
telling of her own experiences with lions, leopards, hippos and deadly snakes. She first developed the art in painting, quilting,
and photography, later turning to the written word. To find out more about Marian’s life and her artwork go to mariansstudio.us.
