ELIGIBILITY AND SPECIFICATIONS
Note: All landscapes must have a specifically identifiable subject indicated - either flora or fauna
There will be five first place awards, five second place awards, five third place awards, and up to 10 honorable mentions awarded.
Each category will be awarded the following:
One First Place - $75.00
One Second Place - $50.00
One Third Place - $25.00
Two Honorable Mention
The judging panel consists of a fine artist and a naturalist, who are recognized for their expertise. All work will be judged for quality of artistic presentation and appropriate depiction of both wildlife and habitat. Both judges will agree on recipients of major awards. At the judge's discretion there will be ribbons and cash awards for First and Second Place in each category. In addition each judge may recognize one other piece of artwork with a Judge's Choice Ribbon. Presentation of awards will take place at an award ceremony.
Sales will be encouraged during the exhibit. A 30% donation will be payable to IWA on all sales during the exhibit. Half of each donation of 30% will be further donated to the Second Presbyterian Church. Artwork need not be for sale in order to be exhibited.
IWA reserves the right to reproduce any of the works for publicity or catalog purposes in print or on our Web Site unless the entrant stipulates otherwise in writing at the time of entry.
The IWA WILDLIFE ART EXHIBIT is open to artists who reside in the United States and whose work shows a serious approach to wildlife art.
The artwork must show a serious approach to nature art and depict one or more species in a manner which captures the essence of the subject. All subjects - zoological and/or botanical must be WILD. No domestic animals or plants will be accepted for exhibit and man-made objects may appear if found in the subject's natural habitat. Entries submitted may not have appeared in previous IWA exhibits. IWA reserves the right to refuse any entry that the group deems inappropriate or that greatly differs from the entry samples submitted.
Two and three-dimensional artwork may be entered in any of the listed categories. Mixed media should identify the most prominent medium first.
TWO-DIMENSIONAL entries must be framed with wire and screw eyes or flat strap hangers in place.
Saw-tooth hangers are not permitted.
It is recommended that all watercolors and drawings be protected by acrylic or glass.
Size limits: Two-dimensional artwork cannot be larger than 40" (including frame) in either dimension. A total maximum allocation of space for each artist will be 2,500 square inches.
A 40" x 40" piece, including frame equals 1,600 sq. in.
and a 20" x 26" piece, including frame, equals 520 sq. in. Together both total 2,120 square inches.
If you wish to hang one piece, in must not exceed 400 square inches.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL entries must be freestanding (no installation pieces will be accepted). Restrictions may apply to entries which exceed 28" in height on a base larger than 18" in depth or width or weight in excess of 25 pounds. (Prior approval of larger entries will be required.)
IWA reserves the right to refuse work which differs markedly from the images submitted with the entry form or which is in violation of the rules.

METHOD OF ENTRY
Artists may submit up to three entries. The exhibit fee for current members is included in the membership dues. The non-members entry fee is $50 for up to 3 entries and an IWA membership for the remainder of the year, if applicant is accepted. Non-member selection to the Exhibit is based on a juried approval of the work presented by 4x6 photos, or by .jpg digital files (of 5MB or less preferred) submitted by e-mail or enclosed on a CD with your entry form. Samples must be identified with artist's name, subject and medium. The link to the application for the 2016 Exhibit will be available early in 2016, however, you may apply immediately to become a member of IWA by filling out the MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
and submitting by either way indicated.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORK TO THE EXHIBIT
For accepted exhibitors directions to our venue will be provided in your exhibit packet along with identification labels for each piece accepted. The labels are to be attached to the back of each two-dimensional piece or to the bottom of three-dimensional work.
ALL ENTRY PIECES ARE TO BE HAND DELIVERED BY DATE SPECIFIED IN THE PROSPECTUS
OUT-OF-STATE ARTISTS: You must make arrangements for your artwork to be delivered and picked up from the Exhibit Site. Indiana Wildlife Artists, Inc. will not be responsible for accepting and/or shipping artwork prior to, or after the exhibit.
Reasonable precautions will be taken to safeguard all entries. The Indiana Wildlife Artists, Inc., Second Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis, Board Members of both organizations, and Volunteers handling art work assume no responsibility for the safety and security of each artist's work and/or participation in the 2014 Exhibit. Artists entering the 2014 IWA Exhibit acknowledge and accept their personal responsibility to provide, if wanted, their own insurance coverage relevant and appropriate for such an event.
